Three Ways to Support a Deaf Orphan at Sam's Place
Our long and continuing work in Kenya is entering the 21st century with a small, but innovative and important project. As the AIDS virus continues to destroy families and threatens the very future of life in Kenya, orphans are paying a high price. Hearing orphans surely suffer too, but the deaf child is often singled out to be abandoned and sometimes worse.
These frightened and desperate children have no hope, no future in a country that sees them as flawed children to be discarded. But God has a plan for them--and for us! There is room at the inn for those who find their to Sam's Place.
Will you help Sam's Place grow legs? There is a need for funds to support our orphans. Monthly contributions cover the cost of education, clothing, meals, medical care, and other operational expenses that support the children in their daily life at Sam's Place. There is a place for you in saving these deaf orphans.
It has been written that it takes a village to raise a child. We have witnessed that reality in our own churches where all have taken a role in raising our children. These deaf orphans need our village--all of us who are God's children. Our village at South 11th and Willis and those from other congregations everywhere, all of us can live the lesson Jesus has left us. Help us to help Sam's Place grow legs.
Now that the first phase of construction is nearly complete and our orphan population have arrived at Sam's Place, our most pressing need is for monthly support for our children. There are three ways that you can make a difference for our children.
Fully support one orphan with a $185 monthly contribution. One person or family can fund the Patron gift or organize others to join with you to support one child. Extended families, Bible classes, fellow workers, and friends and neighbors can join together to make a difference for one orphan at Sam's Place.
